For handmade pieces, the dress is passed into the hands of skilled Afghan artisans, many of them women working from their homes.
These artisans use traditional techniques like Khunjar, pakhta work, and mirror embroidery — often taking up to a month to finish one dress. Machine-produced dresses follow a faster process but still retain hand-done detailing and cultural motifs.
